The Ravishing Beauties

The Ravishing Beauties were Virginia Astely's band before she went solo. They toured with The Teardrop Explodes and recorded a few demos and did a couple of sessions. Here is my favorite of their demos. I love the tiny little Roland drum sounds that go throughout but are completely overshadowed on the choruses by the huge timpani drums.

I've been a big fan since stumbling upon Hope In A Darkened Heart a few years ago, just happened to be searching for some videos of her performing yesterday when I found this post. Keep it up! Where did you find these photos of the ravishing beauties? So good!

This blog is about electronic music instruments made by the Roland corp. in the late 70's and early 80's (mostly pre-MIDI instruments that deal in wholesome CV and Gate signals).
