The exciting thing (the one that I mentioned in the last post) did happen today! I went to The Kilns: The Home of C.S. Lewis, The place where he wrote The Chronicles of Narnia. I hiked through the woods in the back. It was magical... in a bleak sort of way. I was thinking of visiting his grave and The Eagle and Child pub, but I think I'm going to save those things for later in life.
Very cool. I'm sure it was one of those "do sometime before I die" kinds of things, and I'm glad you got to experience it.
ReplyDeleteSometimes I think about having a house that backs onto a wood, and having a closet with no backing on the ground floor, that sort of thing, but who doesn't!

How exciting. For all my years in the UK I have wanted to visit The Kilns (and some haunts of Roald Dahl). Thank you for sharing and reminding me I wanted to do this. See you back in Scotland soon. I will bring the cookies of course. Maddy X
